The snow has started to fall and the city is finally fully dressed for Christmas.  Colourful lights shine bright, evergreens drape on the fresh fallen snow and neighborhoods are transformed.  It’s Christmas in the city.   

Bundle up the kids, grab some sweet Christmas treats and a mug of hot chocolate.  There’s nothing like a family drive to see the lights and the Ottawa area has some of the best displays.

The downtown core is alight with over 400,000 Christmas lights.  From the dazzling Pathway of Lights to the multimedia projection on Parliament Hill a drive downtown is sure to get you in the Holiday spirit.

Take a walk through Sparks Street Mall to experience glowing lights and large-scale decorations.  There are more than a few perfectly instagrammable installations so pack your selfie stick.

Plan to visit Landsdowne for the Christmas Market and stay for the stunning lights.  These Christmas card worthy sets twinkle and sparkle for the perfect festive atmosphere.   Christmas music plays throughout and live musicians often pop up to set the scene.

The Elf House 

The Turcotte family in Stittsville has once again turned their house into a Christmas movie themed extravaganza.  This year’s Elf theme does not disappoint.  There is a candy cane forest, a New York City style taxi on the front lawn and a mock Empire State Building.  You are welcome to take photos with the many props.  The family asks for donation to the Stittsville Food Bank.

Take your family along a magical two kilometer drive through an unforgettable Holiday light show.  The displays feature over one million lights and a 40 foot tree.
